Crazy Weather

“Crazy weather” is an expression that I, shamefully admit, have used to describe climate change. I know I’m not the only one asking what ever happened to the weather patterns taught at school years ago! The whole world is wondering why is it that at times in one same region there are floodings while others are suffering droughts.

My students are complaining about the weather and I am responsible to teach them that God is in control. We had planned a swimming pool celebration for Student’s Day that is on September 21st, the same day that Spring begins in Bolivia. We had been having 40º C days (100º F) and all of a sudden, the temperature drops to 15º C (59º F). Without our plan to go to the pool, we all would have leaped for joy; but we are, that is, I am an egocentric human being, wanting coolness when it’s hot and warmth when it’s cold, always unsatisfied with what God sends.

Now it is the time to teach theM Proverbs 16:9 ” A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.” We say “man proposes, God disposes” teaching us to do our best and leave the rest, with humility and confidence, to God.
