Miss Miriam Hoyos

Miss Miriam:

She worked as the school secretary from 1982-1992 in a time when there were close to 500 hundred students registered and there were not computer programs to fill out report cards and files. Then she got her teaching certificate and was “Miss Miriam” to second grade kids from 1993- 2008.  She has always been involved in children’s ministry having bible lessons in different homes called “happy hour club” and in AWANA. Miriam is loved also by the adolescent girls of her Sunday School class where she has challenged her disciples by missionary biographies. Following the steps of restless Mrs. Train, she has led  the small women’s group bible study every Thursday.

She accompanied Mr. and Mrs Train to el Campo (rural country areas) in evangelization trips and as an adult literacy tutor. She served tables in the dinning rooms to hundreds of visitors during the annual conferences in Camiri and translated the messages into Guarani (tribal language).

In 2001 she suffered a fall and broke her femur head and since then she has tirelessly continued her service to the Lord with a prosthesis. Today she is in need of a replacement (approx. US$3,500). Her church and school family have been giving “peso by peso” in order to support and show our love to this quiet and gentle servant of the Lord.
