EL ESPEJO (The Mirror)

“EL ESPEJO” Winter break camp was held on the land site of what it used to be Hebron seminary, now the One-year Bible School of Camiri, from July 20th-24th. The theme was self-esteem and we were glad to have Christopher Mattix, who was born and raised as a MK here in Camiri, as our preacher. Chris is an old friend of many of the youth leaders and has just graduated from Emmaus Bible College.

A mirror shows us what we look like. The Bible describes itself as a mirror (James 1:23) , but sadly many are looking at the wrong mirror (Hollywood and sport celebrities, top models, peers, etc.) and getting erroneous self-images and thus taking wrong decisions. The Bible is the prefect mirror and it tells us what kind of people we really are. The reflection is not a nice one at first, we are lost sinners; but it also shows us how to fix our flaws and how much God has loved us and given us value.

May every camper be encouraged to see himself/herself through God’s eyes and although we all see through a glass darkly, we might get to appreciate ourselves, live abundantly and serve with all our potential until the day we see him face to face and be fully known as it always should have been.

You can see pictures of camp in my facebook album.
