End-of-the-year Camp

The End-of -the- Year- Camp started Sunday December 26th in the afternoon.  I went to buy groceries Saturday morning with the fee of 26 registered people, but I riskily got supplies for 40.  I ended up cooking for 82 attendants. 12 leaders, 66 campers, 3 cooks and our guest preacher, a man from Argentina who studied at Word of Life Bible Institute and whose testimony of deliverance from the drugs by the power of the blood of Jesus had a great impact. Two girls decided to accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior.

75% of the leaders and 55% of the campers have been my pupils in 4th grade. Nearly 80% of all the participants work or study at “La Cristiana” making it the major source of contacts for our church activities.

A military theme was chosen for the games and activities. It also went along with the teaching of putting up the whole armor of God in Ephessians and the example from the life of Joseph in Genesis.

Everybody went home Thursday December 30th exhausted, but with enthusiasm, new fervor and eagerness to be soldiers that fight the good fight for the Lord in his power in this new year 2011.
