November Birthday Boys

November 13th:  MK, Christopher Mattix

When I arrived to Bolivia in 1996 Chris was just an outgoing and outspoken little kid. For some reason the obvious generation gap between us didn’t have an effect and I found in Chris a companion who made my cultural transition go smoother, a real friend who has been fun and has grown to be an intellectual, an example of generosity and zeal for the Lord.

November 15th: Founder, Eugene D. Train

Gene Train arrived to Bolivia in 1952 and four years later he and his wife Loraine founded the Christian School of Camiri where he functioned as principal for nearly 50 years. His vision to give a better education and share the gospel with the students is his legacy to many of us who continue to labor in this field.

November 18th: My nephew, Michel E. Lagunes Harris

My mind wanders what if…we would have lived in Veracruz next to each other…and if we would have gone together to church, camps, beach and concerts and played and sung Praises to the Lord for hours and watched movies on sleepovers…but life has given us sporadic moments here and there which I treasure and cherish as one of God’s gifts to me.  “Even if we’re a million miles apart, We’re still joined right at the heart”.

  1. Gene & Loraine are true servants of God. They are also an inspiration to someone like myself, who is just beginning to experience the joy of mission service.

Praise God for the servants at Escuela Christiana Camirini.
