One drizzling afternoon

Fall time has arrived to Camiri and with it many gray and rainy days. The temperature will fluctuate between 65º F and 55ºF most of the time. Although I will miss the refreshing and splashing times in the swimming pool under the bright blue clear sky and the scourging heat of the sun of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia; it is now time for more indoor activities; one of my favorite is baking.

Three teenage boys from my Sunday School class and former 4th grade students at the Christian School came to be my helpers. They did the mixing of the ingredients and the cookies. I did the baking and hot apple Cider. The spicy fragrance filled my small dwelling and for me it marked the beginning of autumn.

Nothing beats home-made cookies, a cup of hot cider and good time of fellowship in a drizzling cold day.

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22 (American King James Version).
