Mr.& Mrs. Carlos Sanchez

Not too long ago, or that’s what it seems to me, Mr. Carlos Sanchez was just a boy in 4th grade and like many of my students, he also has become a good friend of mine. I still call him “Carlitos”. He has two younger brothers and one sister. They have been well-brought up in the fear of the Lord by their mother, a faithful believer, who is our talented music teacher at the “Escuela Cristiana Camireña” .  They often pray for their unbelieving father. His wife, Yolanda, is also an alumna and they have a precious baby girl, Sarahí.

Things have not been easy for this young couple as he continues his studies in College and looks for ways to support his family. Carlos makes all kinds of jobs involving sound audio system, recording, videos, slide presentations, etc. You can always see him at church’s and school’s programs carrying cables, microphones, CDs and his helping-hand is appreciated as part of these programs’ success. Sarahí just turned one year old. She is a happy friendly girl who is known to all at school and church. You can see her going from arm to arm held by just anyone older than she. In this culture nicknames are many times affectionately given; she was immediately called “Pucca” after the Korean cartoon series; so for her first birthday she was dressed like her. The piñata, room and cake had also Pucca decorations.

Carlitos is eager to tackle obstacles; he has opened a snack shop in his living room where he and his wife work at night. I see him as a great leader in the making, full of potential with good organizational skills,  active and creative. I thank God for his life, for closely seeing him grow and the privilege of working with him for the Lord.

  1. I completely agree with your description, and it has been a blessing to have him as a great friend all these years, and into the future as well, I am sure.
I too see a lot of potential in him, may God use him for his glory!

  2. Es lindo tener amigos de todas las edades, como el caso de tu amigo Carlos. El Señor te continúe bendiciendo Andrés para seguir sembrando y teniendo diferentes amigos en el Señor.
    Saludos.
