The sounds of break time from school during our winter season came three weeks earlier than planned this year in Bolivia; the reason: Alarm about Swine flu fear spreads. hunters

Andres Moron, Kenny, Johnny and I went to the river beach, pitched a tent, made a fire, cooked hamburgers on a grill, enjoyed homemade cookies, played games, talked all night and “snooped around” the riverbank. It was Winter Solstice, the longest and coldest night of the year.

Trip to Villamontes

Villamontes

With Quema

Villamontes is a small town, not too far from Camiri, in the Tarija Department in south-eastern Bolivia. It is famous for its fish from the “Pilcomayo” River, but my friend Quema and I went for a spectacular, tender, juicy Argentinean-style steak dinner.

Weekend Camp in Santa Cruz

4

I was invited to preach in a camp for teenagers in Santa Cruz. The theme was “The last day of your life” and the challenge was to live each day as if it were our last day and make it count for the Lord.last day of your life

games Although the reason for this break was influenza prevention and people are using sanitizing gel and face-masks, only the Lord knows  what it will happen. As for me, I am enjoying this time and striving to live to the full, with fervor and vehemence.  I got convinced of my preaching that after all, this might be the last day of my life and if not, classes will supposedly resume next Monday.

  1. Nice pictures! I’m glad everything “salió bien”.

  2. EL CAMPA SE VE DIVERTIDO! SALUDOS A LOS CHICOS! JUSTO HOY HACE UN AÑO LES VIMOS DESFILAR Y AÑORAMOS TU COMPAÑÍA Y LA DE LOS HERMANOS. UN SALUDO!

  4. One more week has been added to the break beacuse of swine flu concerns. The irony of all is that people continue traveling. We had our traditional parade for Camiri’s Day; lots of out-of-town people for the event. Now classes will recommence Monday the 27th.
